This event will feature a Super Heroes Theme and will be held from 8AM-1PM at the City Hall Court yard of the City of Edinburg. The City of Edinburg will once again partner for this event with the MPO and will present various fun filled family activities for all ages.
The 6th annual Walk N Rolla Super Heroes event will include a 5K Walk/Run, Kids Bike Rodeo, Guided Family Bike Ride, a Mutt & Strut for pets, and a costume contest for the best dressed Adult/Child Super Hero costume, and so much more!
The WNR event will be promoting bicycle and pedestrian safety and healthy life styles for all ages within the Hidalgo County communities.
Promoting healthy transportation alternatives is the primary goal of the HCMPO. In an effort to increase safety awareness for users of all ages and abilities, a portion of the event proceeds will be used towards the purchase of bicycle and pedestrian safety accessories, including bicycle helmets, lights, and reflectors. These items will be distributed during public outreach events, bike rodeos, and future Walk-N-Rolla events.
The proceeds from the event will be donated to South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association (STJDA), a local non-profit organization. STJDA uses funds to provide diabetic information, medication treatment to underprivileged families in the valley, and provide Shot Spots teddy bear to newly diagnosed children. The event will also host camps for children and their families, with all funds staying in the RGV.
The 6th Annual “Walk N Rolla Super Heroes” event is open to the public.
